Psychological Cohesion and Its Relationship to Some Variables among Students of the College of Basic Education

Abstract

This research aims to Identify the level of psychological cohesion among students of the College of Basic Education, and to identify the significance of significant differences in the level of psychological cohesion among the research sample according to the variable of specialization (scientific - humanities) and the variable of academic grade (second - fourth). The research sample consisted of 100 male and female students in the College of Basic Education. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher constructed a psychological cohesion scale, which consists of 24 items, each answered with (strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, strongly disagree) and weights (4, 5, 1, 2, 3). The validity and reliability of the scale were verified through statistical methods, and the discriminatory power of the scale items was calculated. The results showed the following:


1.The research sample Is characterized by an above-average level of psychological cohesion.


2. There are significant differences in the level of psychological affinity in favor of the scientific specialization.


3. There are significant differences in the level of psychological affinity in favor of the second grade.
