Character and Time A Reading of the Novel "The Palm Tree and the Neighbors" by Ghaib Tu'ma Farman
Abstract
Time considered to become an important element in novels, it can't be separated from the character and its normal that the time has different types and directions. The time is essential in novel construction, it’s an events timer and complicated and fact supplier element for the novel, despite this disappearing and melting we can feel it and it effect on the character. Novels can't be empty of time element; it’s the field where the characters move. Time studying requires comprehension and awareness for other times, in our study for (the palm and the neighbours) novel's time we tracked the inner time elements (time of the story) and we studied the outer time relations and its effect on the characters and detect the time paradoxes through ways of (return and quote).
