Abstract

The study aimed to identify the statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the post-test with respect to selected types of tennis serves.

The researcher formulated the following null hypothesis: there are no statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the post-test regarding selected types of tennis serves.

The researcher employed the experimental method using an equivalent-groups pre-test–post-test design. The research sample consisted of 36 students, who were equally assigned to two groups: an experimental group (18 students) and a control group (18 students). The educational program was implemented over a period of six weeks, comprising one instructional session per week, with each session lasting 75 minutes.

The Jones Tennis Serve Accuracy Test was used to assess the accuracy of the three selected types of tennis serves. In addition, supporting physical fitness tests were administered to ensure the equivalence of the two groups.

The collected data were analyzed using the following statistical techniques: arithmetic mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, paired-samples t-test, and independent-samples t-test, using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).

The findings revealed statistically significant differences in the post-test in favor of the experimental group, indicating that the use of short motivational videos was more effective than the conventional teaching method in improving the performance of selected tennis serving skills.
